Aamis is 2019 ASSAMESE language feature film directed by Bhaskar Hazarika. Aamis is story of a married women nirmali, doctor by profession and sumon, a Ph.d student. 

The film starts as sumon calls nirmali to see his friend who is sick. On the way he tells her about “the meat club”  which she finds very interesting. She does not take fees for the visit and instead asks for meat next time he prepares it.  The story actually begins when he first offers her meat prepared by him. 

The love story begins to flourish as they meet again and again to taste different kinds of meat. Nirmali’s husband is mostly away for working so its easy to get along with sumon.

The films unique storytelling lies in the fact that this love story is highly romantic and intimate but there is not a glimpse of sex not even touch.  The film takes a turn when he offers her meat cooked from his own skin and that takes her into a trance state.

This film is an example of multi-genre film. It starts like a beautiful love story, but turns to psychological thriller towards the end.  This film is difficult to watch at some moments, but its Director’s genius that the purity of love is overshadowed by the insanity towards meat.

This is the most unique film Indian cinema has ever witnessed. Do ride n the enthralling journey of wild romanticism.
