Taste of Cherry is an Emotional Drama Movie, directed by Abbas Kiarostami, who is a well known director in world cinema. 

The film begins with a very simple but emotional approach. The protagonist Badii is a middle-aged man and a permanent resident of Terhaan who wants to commit suicide for some unknown reason, and his last wish is that someone should attend his self declared funeral. And after his death, that person should bury him in a proper manner, for this work Badii is ready to pay 200000 Iranian Currency. 

To fulfill this purpose he drives continuously around the city and meets a Muslim military trainee, and tells him about his plight. But he refuses to help him for what the Badii says to do according to his plan.

 The second time Badii meets an Afghani labour who tries to teach him the lessons of the Holy Quran so that he could stop him from committing suicide, but finally that Afgani labour is unsuccessful to stop Badii.

 Eventually, Badii finds an old man who is in urgent need of the money, agrees to give Badii's planning a physical Form. Earlier, the old man recounted his own past tragedy in which the elderly Ismani also tried to commit suicide but failed for a small reason.  Even after so, Badii refuses to listen. That night Badii goes to his fixed place and there he came near a rock, after which he buries himself and at that time the black clouds in the sky fall loudly.  The film ends here with some of the final "making" scenes.

 The main features of this film are the camera work in the film and the frequent emotional scenes that makes a normal audience to think in depth.

 It is the first Iranian film to be awarded the Palme d'Or.  In addition, the film has been awarded the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

 If you try to see for yourself the existence of the main character in this film, you will definitely understand the greatness of this film.
